COVID-19 and Influenza (updated August 5, 2024)

Due to the ongoing risk of community transmission of coronavirus, as well as influenza and other respiratory illnesses. Respectable Aesthetics is following all current health recommendations to help stop the spread and keep everyone safe.

As a small business which is trying to do the right thing, we kindly request that BEFORE your appointment, if you are:

• COVID, Influenza or RSV positive (RAT or PCR)
• feeling unwell
• experiencing fevers or sweats
• coughing
• sore throat
• runny nose
• loss of taste
• any other respiratory symptoms
• are considered a close contact with a person diagnosed with COVID-19, Influenza or RSV.

PLEASE CALL RESPECTABLE AESTHETICS (3924 8000) AND CANCEL YOUR APPOINTMENT.

It is important you do not rebook for about 2 weeks or until all symptoms have resolved. Receiving an aesthetic treatment too soon after being unwell increases the risk of unwanted side effects.

There is a cancellation policy* and being unwell does not waiver any cancellation fees. We therefore recommend any cancellations are made as early as possible to avoid losing part or all of the applicable deposit. 

VACCINATIONS

Covid -19 vaccine/booster – This should be no closer than 2 weeks before or after an aesthetic treatment.

Tetanus vaccine – This should be a minimum of 4 weeks before or at least 2 weeks following an antiwrinkle treatment. This includes the combined whooping cough vaccine (Boostrix – DTPa).

Influenza vaccine – There are no concerns with receiving influenza vaccine, however it is recommended to not plan for an aesthetic treatment in the days following, incase you feel temporarily unwell.  

CLINIC ENVIRONMENT

Respectable Aesthetics practitioners will follow all recommended infection control practices to keep staff and patients as safe as possible.

Practitioners will wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) where appropriate, which may include facemask, faceshield, eyewear and gloves. 

All equipment used to administer aesthetic treatments are single use and disposable.

Hard and soft surfaces will be cleaned appropriately between patients.

Respectable Aesthetics thanks you for respecting the health and well-being of our practitioners and patients by adhering to these directions and reducing your chance of unwanted side effects and our chance of becoming ill, which could result in clinics being cancelled.

OTHER SAFETY INFORMATION

Respectable Aesthetics practitioners value your safety above everything else. Please be open and honest with us when we ask you about your health history. All information is completely confidential and only used to determine which treatment options are suitable for you.

We will not treat any patient who is pregnant or trying to conceive, or who is breast feeding, as there is no evidence to prove these treatments are 100% safe for a developing baby.

If you have an infection anywhere in your body (no matter how insignificant it may seem), please advise your practitioner before treatment. An active infection can easily spread within the body and this can increase the chance of you experiencing a complication.

If you are a smoker, it is important that you do not smoke for at least 48 hours after many of our treatments. Smoking increases the chance of infection and decrease the body’s ability to heal itself. If you are unable to cease smoking during this important recovery time, our practitioners reserve the right to not administer your treatment.

If we decide for ANY reason that a treatment is unsafe or not appropriate for you, we will explain why and we reserve the right to NOT administer that treatment. Our decision will be final in all instances.
