FAQs

This link explains the recent changes for our industry. We are no longer allowed to advertise any specific treatments involving S4 prescription medication or relevant pricing, show any before and after photos, or have patient reviews. These changes are also the reason why our business name had to change.

There are many types of aesthetic treatments. We do not offer all of them at our clinic. Most treatments have a level of discomfort but are generally well tolerated. Where appropriate cool packs or numbing gel may be applied to the skin first for added comfort.

Side effects are generally minor in most cases. Swelling, bruising, redness and slight discomfort or headache, are considered normal and not a reason for concern. These resolve within a few days and are easily managed. If you believe your side effects are more serious, we encourage you to contact us and come in for a review. Serious side effects are very rare and your practitioner will discuss these if they are relevant to your treatment.

The majority of aesthetic treatments are very safe and have been used very safely, for many years on millions of people. At Respectable Aesthetics, your safety is always our main concern.

Long term side effects of treatments are very unlikely. Most aesthetic treatments are localised, temporary and need to be repeated to maintain the effect. If treatments are not repeated, any achieved effect will eventually wear off entirely.

Depending on the treatment you have, results could be immediate, a couple of weeks, or take several months. Your Respectable Aesthetics practitioner will discuss this detail with you at your consultation.

Please come to your appointment with your face washed and void of all makeup. This helps us assess your skin and facial structures properly. Makeup is not recommended until the next day following most aesthetic treatments.

Unfortunately, they do not. The aging process will always continue but many aesthetic treatments can assist in slowing down the appearance of some of the typical characteristics of ageing such as wrinkle development, volume loss in the face or reduced skin quality.

No, you do not. If you decide you do not wish to repeat a treatment, the achieved effect will lessen over time and wear off completely. It is a myth that a person will look older when they stop having aesthetic treatments.  However, wrinkles do return and volume loss will continue to occur.

No, you cannot. Respectable Aesthetics never uses or recommends permanent fillers for numerous reasons.

It is likely your aesthetic goals will change over time. Using products that metabolise naturally or can be dissolved allows you to stay in control of your preferred aesthetic.

Your face will continue to age around a permanent filler, this means the result many years later will not look the same as when it was originally done.

Areas where permanent fillers have been previously injected are unable to be treated with any further  temporary filler. This is  due to a higher risk of infection and an inflammatory response which can occur.

Permanent fillers are unable to be dissolved which could be catastrophic in an emergency situation if a patient’s circulation or vision was compromised.

Respectable Aesthetics only recommends temporary dermal fillers for your safety. In the unlikely event that you change your mind or there is a serious complication, the fillers can be completely dissolved.

If you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or are breast feeding, you will not be allowed to receive any aesthetic treatment. There are no studies that can guarantee injectable treatments are 100% safe for an unborn child or a baby being breast fed. For your baby’s safety we advise that you wait until your pregnancy is over and you have finished breast feeding. This rule extends to women who are also trying to conceive, naturally or through IVF.

No, you cannot. Respectable Aesthetics will not treat any person who is under the age of 18. Very few aesthetic treatments are essential for good health. We recommend seeking advice from your GP in instances where there may be a medical need for treatment. We reserve our right to request to see government issued identification for any patient who looks younger than 25 years old.

This is not possible. Sending a still photo does not give our practitioners the information they need to accurately determine appropriate options for you.  You will need to come to one of our clinic locations and have a face to face consultation so we can complete a health assessment and have a detailed  discussion about your specific ageing concerns.

The team at Respectable Aesthetics have 22 years of collective experience within this industry, offering detailed and bespoke consultations to people about their ageing concerns. Our knowledge of facial anatomy and ageing, as well as available treatments is extensive and we are committed to providing you with information appropriate to the options that would suit you best. We are also very happy to assist in referring you to different practitioners if the treatments we believe you should consider are not ones that we offer. Our consultations are always honest and respectful conversations and we believe the information we provide you is valuable in assisting you to make informed and appropriate choices.

Unfortunately we have a cancellation policy because people sometimes do not show up for their appointments or give us much notice they are unable to attend. The cancellation policy has become a necessary part of our business in order to protect some of our income.

We do understand that some things are unable to be planned for, and we do empathise if a person is not able to attend their scheduled appointment. However, if it is not our fault, then our business should not have to be financially disadvantaged.

All businesses cost money to run and if a person does not show up or cancels to close to the appointment time, we are unlikely to be able to fill the spot with another patient. The practitioner whose time was blocked out to provide that consultation service has a wage that still needs to be paid, and the business continues to have operational costs. The deposit which is forfeited for a no show or cancellation on the day of the appointment does not come close to covering those costs but merely assists us in recouping a small amount of money for our time in this situation.

We encourage ALL patients to read our Terms & Conditions on this website as well as read all email and SMS correspondence relating to upcoming appointments as this will help you to avoid incurring cancellation fees.
